Any gambling clients are tightly controlled by compliance. So it becomes a tricky area to operate in, especially with a brand using bright colours – virtually anything makes it look like you’re aiming the work at kids. I had to come up with a way to dramatise the ‘win-some-lose-some’ existing campaign for some super quick idents. Simplicity was key and, calling on the well-known fruit machine format, we animated CG objects into position – sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
My approach to this project meant I could deliver a suite of idents on a tight budget and at breakneck speed – there’s enough of a change in script and visual to keep it feeling fresh across the season of Celebrity Juice.
